Together We Stand, Together We Fall

I can’t keep quiet anymore, I’m sorry. Actually, no, I’m not sorry. I am so tired of hearing wild accusations from corrupt news outlets talking about topics that they don’t have all the facts on and truly aren’t qualified to be commenting on. Thanks to social media, we now apparently have 3 million self-proclaimed military advisors at our finger tips. I can hardly blame the young generation for not knowing any better, because for as long as they’ve been able to know what “politics” are, they’ve had social media and dingbat celebrities to feed them all their “news” and “facts”. But for the rest of you who know better than to listen to the circus leaders that are the media, shame on you.
“Together we stand,
Together we fall.
If you’ve attacked one,
You’ve attacked us all.
But we’ve pulled together,
Our nation is strong.
We will defeat terrorists,
No matter how long.”
This is a poem my mom & I wrote after the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks took place. America vowed to NEVER FORGET what happened that dreadful day, and on September 12th after the shock set in, our country pulled together and was as UNITED and STRONG as ever. American flags were flying everywhere you looked. Every house, every school, every local business. Republican households, Democratic households. Liberals. Conservatives. It didn’t matter, at that moment in time, we were all Americans before we were anything else.
Now you look at what happened this past week. The United States took out Qasem Soleimani, the man who lead the Quds Force, a radical group that carries out terrorist operations in the Middle East. He was a very bad and dangerous man, comparable to Osama bin Laden. Although his operations never took place on American soil, he was still responsible for the death of hundreds of Americans, along with thousands of others. He had just, on December 27th, ordered an operation that killed an American contractor and injured four other American troops, and was actively engaged & plotting against the United States and American forces.
After 9/11 we were angry that anyone dare lay harm to our fellow Americans and we responded with a force that said “DON’T F**K WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” We rejoiced and celebrated on May 2nd, 2011 when our military took out Osama Bin Laden. I was in college at that time, and I remember people running into the streets with American flags, singing the National Anthem and chanting “USA, USA!”
Again, last week, people in cities across the country took to the streets after our US military took out another dangerous terrorist leader and threat. This time, however, it was not in celebration. They were not singing the National Anthem, and they were not chanting “USA”. Instead, protesters flooded the streets to condemn our president for taking out a warmonger who has killed, and would kill our people again.
The Left is upset because President Trump didn’t consult Congress before ordering the assassination. However, President Obama took out a number of terrorists with drone attacks, and also ordered the Seal team to take out Bin Laden without congressional discussion, and there was no uproar then. Trump saw our opportunity and he took it. It’s something that should have been done, cleaned up, and moved on from. But instead, we have people like Elizabeth Warren who have the AUDACITY to state that it is reasonable to assume President Trump ordered Soleimani’s killing to distract from his pending Senate impeachment trial.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
When Soleimani emerged, after years of not knowing his precise location, President Trump took decisive action and took out this dangerous man who was responsible for more American deaths than any other terrorist leader since Osama Bin Laden, and had just days before ordered an attack on US personnel, killing one and injuring four. President Trump and our military advisors would have been negligent to not go after him when they had the chance. This was a mission completed by our US military that should have been seen as a victory, and yet we have AMERICAN people in the streets angry.
Why? I’m honestly not 100% sure, but I can confidently say a big part of why is because of the media circus created by today’s large networks and the ongoing reality TV show that is known as our “political race”. Our country has never been more divided than it is right now. We are the strongest nation in the world, yet we are fighting each other within our borders. This doesn’t send a good message to our allies or our enemies, and it’s certainly not an America that I want to raise my son in. How do we get back on track? How do we become the UNITED States of America again? We have to do what we promised back in 2001 and NEVER FORGET 9/11. We need to get back to a 9/12 America.
God Bless America.
Xo,
Kayla
